Why we built PWTL
A simple idea, born from a real conversation — and a feeling far too many of us know.
Recently, I spoke to a friend in the UK who was struggling. One of his closest friends had moved away, and with that, something simple disappeared: going to the local for a pint and talking. That one evening a week had been his outlet.
It hit me because I've been in the same situation for a while.

Coming home on a Friday, wanting to head to the pub — but having no one to call. No one to meet. So you stay in.
You tell yourself it's fine.
It's not something people talk about much, and honestly, it can feel uncomfortable to admit.
"That kind of connection matters more than people realise. When it disappears, things get harder."
But I kept thinking about how things used to be: meeting friends, talking about anything, supporting each other, or just being there.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people are in the same position — especially men, where loneliness and mental health issues often go unspoken.
So I decided to do something about it.
I built Pint with the Lads (PWTL) — a simple app to connect with people nearby who are up for going out for a pint.
Fancy joining the lads?
If any of this sounds familiar, you're not on your own. Come have a pint with us.
